I love spring. The weather starts getting warmer, we can open the windows and let the fresh air in. The garden centers start to open up around town. Spring just puts a smile on my face. It is also time for cleaning out the house. I never dread spring cleaning, I look forward to it. Getting out all the junk you don’t use, clearing up spaces, decluttering.
I have decided this year that I would also do a spring cleaning in my bead room. I have been collecting beads for over 20 years now, and it can get a little out of hand in there at times. I work better when I don’t have things looming over me. Beads sit in bags from years ago saying “do you even remember what project I was for” or projects stare at me, reminding me of how I just left them there, unfinished.
But they are unfinished projects, not abandoned. Never abandoned. So for the next few weeks I have set some ground rules for myself. No new projects, not even going to plan new ones. I will try to get as many done in the next two weeks that I can. I might not get them all done, but I will certainly make a big dent. After that I will dedicate a few hours a week to finish up anything that is left, and cleaning out any beads in my stash that I will probably never use and find them a home that will give them the love and attention they deserved, and before long, there will be no more clutter. A clean slate for the new season, I feel better just thinking about it. *Deep breath*… ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
